The Yuba River is undeniably one of the most popular fly fishing rivers in Northern California. The wild trout are amazing fighters and the river is very accommodating to the fly angler. But don’t let its good looks fool you; the fish can be picky at times and a tough day on this river will certainly leave you scratching your head with frustration. “How do I outsmart these fish?” you ask. Hiring a guide to help you learn the river is one option, attending our Yuba River Fly Fishing Clinic is another. This class is taught by professional fly fishing guides who actually fish the river on a regular basis.
Rainbow trout are found in the Yuba all year long with steelhead and salmon making their way upstream in the fall. We are offering this clinic year round and the techniques discussed will work for both trout and steelhead alike. We will cover basic fundamentals including fishing with an indicator, dry flies, soft-hackle presentations, proper mending, and even tuning up your cast if needed. The class will be held on club waters with private access so class size is limited to 6 anglers.
