Putah Creek

Putah Creek is very technical wild trout fishery. It originates in the coastal mountains of Lake and Napa Counties, and flows east to the Yolo Bypass where it connects to the Sacramento-San Joaquin River Delta. The main section used by fly anglers begins below Monticello Dam, at the southeastern corner of Lake Berryessa, and continues down to Lake Solano. This section is accessible from State Route 128, near the town of Winters, and offers excellent fly fishing opportunities all year round. The flows on Putah come from the depths of the lake and are fairly consistent and cold throughout the year.
