This is a friendly “competition” and a ton of fun. Teams are drawn randomly each day, and the participants with the highest cumulative scores at
the end of the tourney win the good stuff. There is also a cash prize for the largest fish landed each day. Guests arrive for the event on Thursday and get situated at
the riverfront Edgewater Inn in Shady Cove, Oregon. Although most guests fish on Thursday, the fishing tournament takes place on Friday, and Saturday. Groups are divided up
prior to each day's float and typically float a different section of the river each day. Prizes, along with way too many fishing stories, are awarded Saturday night during
dinner. Non-tournament fishing is also available on Sunday if desired. Attendees must have a personal pontoon boat, raft, or drift-boat... No guides allowed.
The Rogue River is an exceptional steelhead river with all the clasic features you would expect. It stands alone in the Northwest when it comes to the possibility of catching a steelhead on a fly rod. This famous river presents the best likelihood for beginner and veteran alike to hook super-charged steelies, even when compared to the imposing likes of fabled steelhead waters such as the Deschutes and North Umpqua. Rogue River steelhead are very eager to chase a fly if given the right presentation!
Space is limited to 16 participants, so sign up early.
