One of the most pristine places in the state, this stream has cascading
falls and plunge pools offering many opportunities to fish large dry flies or
nymphs. The water is almost always crystal clear, except below the Greer Lakes.
It even flows well enough in drought years to sustain fish populations. This is
a very nice place to hike, and the fishing almost becomes secondary. Originating
from springs on Baldy Peak, the Little Colorado River ends at the Grand Canyon.
The White Mountains headwaters hold brook, brown, rainbow, and the native Apache
trout.
