White River Fly Fishing

White River

The White River has earned a reputation for its world class trout fishing, producing brown trout into the 30-40 pound range. In a Trout Unlimited member survey (Trout magazine, Summer, 1998), the White River rated in the top 20 of 101 Best Trout Streams in the country by more than 1,200 respondents. Ranked as eleventh, among such streams as the Henry's Fork, San Juan, Upper Yellowstone, and the Bighorn, the White was noted for its big browns. An easy drive from Oklahoma, Kansas, Missouri, Texas, Illinois, Tennessee, and other neighboring states, the White River provides excellent drift boat fly fishing opportunities for trout in the mid-south.

Four dams in Arkansas and one in Missouri make for over 150 miles of cold water environment for trout. Four species are stocked: brown, rainbow, cutthroat, and brook trout.

Our Lodge connection is a deluxe fly-in Alaska fishing lodge located 70 air miles Northwest of Anchorage on scenic Lake Creek. Our remote Alaska lodge features custom salmon & trout fishing packages, fine lodge amenities, world-class Alaska fishing, and attentive personal service -- all at affordable prices!

Lake Creek, offers some of the finest fly fishing for king salmon, silver salmon, chum salmon, pink salmon, sockeye salmon and native rainbow trout. Lake Creek is a mountain tributary running 60 miles North to South from its source at Lake Chelatna in the Alaska mountain range to the confluence of the glacial Yentna River. It is a dynamic, meandering river with many isolated islands, gravel bars, runs, reefs and backwater areas. It is easily fished by spin and fly fishermen alike and is typically done from the river bank, or wading out from mid-stream shallow areas. Our river provides excellent habitat for spawning salmon and has shown a dramatic increase in productivity over the past 10 years. Salmon returns are at an all-time high.

All lodge fishing packages include: round trip floatplane flights from Anchorage to the Lodge, full lodge services including daily guided fishing, all meals on and off the water, and private cabin accommodations. Fishing package rates are based on noon arrivals and departures. Transportation via float plan from and to Anchorage is provided by Rust's Flying Service, a very reputable, well-established Alaska float plane charter service. Special group and corporate rates are available upon request. The lodge has a beer and wine license and a good selection of popular wines and Anchorage, Alaska Micro-brewed beers are always available.
