Skeena Region

The Skeena Region of Northwest British Columbia has the finest wild Steelhead fishery in the world. The Lodge is centrally located in the Skeena Region and offers Guided trips on over a dozen different Steelhead Rivers directly from the lodge or by helicopter. Most of the year we use a wet fly swing presentation using fly patterns based on strip leeches, and general practitioners. To present the fly we us 8 to 10 weight outfits with interchangeable sink tip systems loaded onto reels capable of holding at least 150 yards of 30 pound backing. The average steelhead is 8-20lbs with a reasonable opportunity to catch Steelhead in access of 20lbs. Occasionally 30lbs plus Steelhead are caught and there have been Steelhead taken by Marine Biologists in the test fishery on the approach waters of the Skeena River of 44lbs plus. At the lodge, world record Steelhead are a reality not a dream.

Are you hardcore? Are you a tough steelhead angler looking for a challenge? If so then this is your kind of trip!

We’ll be fishing mainly on the Copper River, a tributary to the mighty Skeena River, and we’ll be targeting the monster steelhead that swim there. The biggest wild steelhead in the world swim the Skeena to travel into its tributaries, and we’re going to try to catch them.

The fishing can be fantastic in the Copper in November, but the conditions can be tough on a guy—it can be cold, it can be wet, it’s definitely unpredictable, but the rewards are there for the steelhead angler who can take it. Just take a look at the November fish in the photos on this flier.
