For this trip, we’ll be staying on a live-aboard boat which we’ll use as a
home base for traveling out to the barrier island grass flats and bayous to
sight-fish for tailing redfish.
The boat is an 80 foot yacht with 6 staterooms for your sleeping comfort. It
carries 6 skiffs, which we’ll be using to explore the shallows and bayous.
We will be spending our fishing days either in the extensive grass bayous of the
Mississippi River delta, or we will be poling and wading the hard flats of the
nearby islands. The target species will be redfish, but there will also be
opportunities to catch Sea-trout. The Redfish will range between 3 and 15 pounds.
And they like poppers!
Fly into Gulfport, MS. and stay at The Island of Capri Casino. The next morning
you will be picked up for the short drive to the boat. Fish for 5 days then back
to Gulfport for a stay at the Casino for a night. Fly home the next day.
