Fishing Reports

Feather River
As of today High Flow is 4k cfs, low flow is 700cfs

Clarity is 4-6ft low flow, 8-10ft high flow
The high flow has been fishing fairly well both swinging and with indicators between the flow fluctuations. We have been seeing a few winter steelhead here and there and we should start to see springers showing up any day now.

While most of the fish are from Hwy70 bridge to the hatchery spawning, fish are spread throughout the entire system and by covering more water, you will find a good number of willing fish to take your fly.
We have been using a variety of flies for swinging, black and blue, alevins, sculpins, as well as brown or chartreuse Euphorias. On those warmer days, Lady Caroline’s work extremely well too.

Under an indicator, egg imitations, worms, alevins as well as prince nymphs, CJs, blow torches and beatis patterns seem to do the trick.

This river will only get better as we move out of winter and into the spring and warmer weather. The future’s looking bright for the Feather.
