Over the past week and a half hopper fishing has hit its prime for this summer in my opinion. For anglers who are willing to commit to dry or die, and are able to wait to set the hook when they get a hopper eat have been rewarded. Two skilled clients committed to a single hopper the other day and raised over 30 fish. Every day is different on the yuba, hopper action will likely continue to stay strong throughout August then it can often taper off going into September going back into the nymph game. Flows are sitting around 2,000 cfs and we will have plenty of cold clean water to fish through the rest of summer.
