We’ve seen some of the best fishing this mighty spring creek has offered in years. Quality across the board—big hatches, clean cold water (at least until recently), and large wild rainbows that love to rip line. Honestly, it’s been pretty remarkable.
PMDs have been the big story on the Fall this season. The hatch has been rolling for weeks, and the spinner fall has delivered both hero shots and heartbreak. If you’ve missed a few, take a breath and make another cast—the next fish is just as good.
The Hex hatch came early this year and stuck around longer than expected. We’re now on the tail end, but hats off to the diehards still out there flicking bugs under the stars.
As we roll into July, the crowds—yes, it’s been a busy year—tend to thin out, and the fishing can still be excellent. Early morning Calibaetis spinner falls can stretch well into the late morning, or swinging soft hackles can bring some incredible eats.
We love this time of year on the Fall. The return of solitude is real, and there’s nothing quite like summer fishing on this beautiful river.
